The Shoot: Arizona Heat Meets Horror Legacy
Ron and I kept things lean. I filmed his portion with the RED Komodo X, capturing every grim smirk and eerie inflection with razor-sharp clarity. No distractions — just Ron, a camera, and the character he embodies. The Komodo’s dynamic range let me punch into his delivery, pulling out textures in his expression that felt almost larger than life.
Meanwhile, the Waldorf Estate of Fear footage served as a time capsule. Its decayed halls, shadow-drenched facades, and haunted atmosphere became the stage where Ron’s voice could echo. By weaving the archival material through his Arizona performance, I created a bridge — as if Junior Hubbard himself were speaking from inside Waldorf’s haunted walls.

Building the Promo’s Tone
Ron’s Message: Delivered direct, in character, with that off-kilter Hubbard energy horror fans know too well.
Waldorf Atmosphere: The archival footage acted like haunted connective tissue, giving the promo its setting and weight.
Editing Rhythm: Quick cuts, grain overlays, and a soundtrack of low rumbles and sharp stingers brought the two worlds together into one nightmare reel.
Horror is nostalgia and immediacy in one. This promo had to hit both: honoring the past while delivering something alive, raw, and right now. Fans who grew up terrified by Part V now get to step back into that nightmare, this time as participants at Waldorf’s Slasher Weekend Reunion. The fact that Ron’s portion was shot far from Waldorf makes the final product even sweeter. Horror travels. Shadows aren’t bound by geography. All that matters is the fear that seeps through the screen.
